Went to bed the other evening and my gosh I couldn't sleep I tossed and turned and tumbled and felt that I might weep And then I thought of "Scamper," could I Substitute my bed? I'm wondering about so many things How bluebirds fly across the sky What sends the snow down to the earth below And leaves the clouds above up in the sky I'm wondering what makes the flowers bloom Why rivers flow into the sea What brings the fog, what makes a hollow log Why I am me, not you, and you're not me I'm wondering what makes the world go round And why the moon affects the tide How children grow, so much I want to know I feel the questions running round inside Some day I'll know about so many things Some day I'll know the reasons why But just for now, I'll try to find out how As long as someone else will let me try I'm wondering about the stars so bright How far away they seem to be I wish that I could reach up in the sky And catch a star to fly away with me
